Welcome to France, and Dare to Shine!

(FIFA.com)
  • France-based stars send welcome message
  • A few special guests have also got involved
  • Don’t miss the Draw on 8 December!

The 24 teams that have booked their slot at the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™ have now been confirmed, and with the exception of France, who qualified automatically as hosts, the road that led there has been long and arduous for the majority of them.

On closer inspection, however, the trip to France next summer will not be too problematic for certain players, due to the fact that a good number of the stars expected to appear at the tournament happen to play for French clubs, so will already be there.

Who, therefore, is better placed to welcome the supporters from their respective countries who are planning on making the trip to cheer on their favourites? In front of the FIFA.com cameras, several big names from the women’s game got right into the spirit of things.

Lindsay Horan (United States), who formerly played for Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Wang Shuang (China PR), Ashley Lawrence (Canada), Christiane Endler (Chile) and Irene Paredes (Spain), who are all currently part of the Parisians’ squad, invited fans of their nations to join the party. Dzsenifer Marozsan (Germany), Lucy Bronze (England), Shanice van de Sanden (Netherlands) and Saki Kumagai (Japan) did the same from Lyon, where they play their club football and where the semi-finals and final will be held.

Be they Brazilian, Swedish, Chilean, Spanish, Canadian, Chinese, Dutch, French, or of one of the many other nationalities that will be represented during the competition, they have all sent you the same message in the video below: Welcome to France, and Dare to Shine!

As for fans in South Africa, Argentina and Italy, they received a special invitation from some special France-based compatriots. Who, exactly? Find out in the above video!
